Eric Clancy has been a professional working Musician focusing primarily in Jazz piano studies for over Fifteen years. He began teaching and playing professionally in college in 1989 while studying Philosophy and History. During that time he was studying with Jazz Bassist and Jazz/Classical Piano player Carl Rowan--a Columbus native. Later he took some advanced theory and piano technique with the great Kenny Werner. Eric has played a variety of musical genre's ever since as a professional musician, recording on over 90 local/regional/national and international projects as a studio musician. His styles range from Classical, Pop, R&B, Soul, fusion, world fusion, Jazz, to pop and contemporary. He also plays live with many different bands in the North East Indiana/Chicago Regions. In addition Eric plays Solo Piano regularly at many local area clubs and has recorded three projects of his own, and is currently working on his fourth. Eric teaches jazz Theory at Huntington University, and offers private and group music lessons at the Sweetwater Academy of Music. In addition to teaching technique and theory, he also offers training in computer recording, keyboard technology, B3 Organ Emulation, Synth Programming, jazz harmony and voicing, rock and pop/Country piano chording, improvisation, classical technique, musical transcription, sight reading, general music skills, general keyboard skills. He has also designed his own method in piano technique focusing primarily on hand skills and their relation to the keyboard.
On the weekends he continues to play professionally at area clubs, and out of town venues. Eric has been married for 16 years and he has a 10 year old Golden Retriever.

Currently at home I use a Studio Logic Controller with Sonar (V.6 Producer). I also use a Motif Rack and for Organ a Roland VK Combo (Great Rhoades on it too!). I travel with Pro Tools on a Macbook Pro and Ivory piano soft synth. I also have a Korg Triton LE.
